Hope Rising Church

Hope Rising Church meets every Sunday, in Prestwick Community Centre where we enjoy a time of worship, prayer ministry and teaching of God's Word. All welcome! Church starts at 10am until around 11.30am. We have Youth & Kids Ministry which takes place during the service. On the last Sunday of each month we have "Unplugged Sunday" which is an informal gathering starting at 10am and includes time of sharing food together. Further details can be found on Facebook and Instagram. Hope Rising believes in the power of prayer. On a Wednesday evening we have "House of Prayer" which is an hour of prayer 7pm-8pm in one of our homes. We also have a weekly guys bible study where youth and guys of all ages get together to have open discussion and read and study the Bible together.

The Vision

The vision for Hope Rising was birthed as a small group of passionate Christians met online for a year during the COVID lockdown to pray and ask God what was He doing in His Church at this time and what did He want His Church to look like. We sensed that we were, and continue to be, in an absolutely pivotal time of change in the church and believe that this is a time of renewal and reformation. We spent hours sharing about and praying through what God had put on our hearts and listening to different teachers and prophets. It was clear to us very quickly that God was doing a new thing…..confirming this time and time again and calling His church back to purity, power, prayer and purpose.

During a time of listening, seeking and sharing, the Lord gave us a clear vision of Him building His church anew on the foundations of the prophets and apostles, operating in the fullness of the Five Fold Ministry (Ephesians 4) - apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers. Each one of these gifts being a core part of the health, growth and leadership of the church. A church modelled on the early church, welcoming the Holy Spirit and operating in power. A church moved to bind up broken and hurting people, go after the lost and encourage those who had drifted in their faith. A church encouraging everyone to operate in their God given gifting’s from the youngest to the oldest. This is not a church built upon man-made structures, hierarchies, rules or agendas but built on the Rock – Christ Jesus, the Head of the church. This is a church built upon the word of God, worshipping in spirit and in truth and practicing the presence of Jesus. God reminded us time and time again of the ‘hope’ that we have in him and this hope really was rising up despite what we were seeing and experiencing in the natural. So we are excited about what God is saying and doing and the plans that he has for His people who are hungry for more of Him. We cannot go back to how things were but we are desperate to see God move mightily in His church and see revival. We believe that it is time for God’s people to rise up! We continue to listen, trust and obey and give God our ‘Yes’ each step of the way.

Hope Rising is a church family who passionately pursue the presence of God. We believe that in God’s presence there is healing, breakthrough and transformation. We are a visible presence in the heart of the community to impact and influence those around us.

Hope Rising is a church family operating in the power of the Holy Spirit and the full Five Fold Ministry and built upon the power of God’s Word.

Purity

Hope Rising is a church family pursuing purity and holiness, being in the world but not of the world.

People

Hope Rising is a multi-generational church family who love Jesus and demonstrate His love and compassion for all people…A place where people experience healing, wellbeing and freedom in Christ. People are valued and they are nurtured to grow in their spiritual gifts, their purpose and identity. (Helping young people and young adults flourish is particularly important to us.)

Partnership

Hope Rising is a church family of men, women and young people working in partnership with each other and with local churches and ministries to build the Kingdom of God here in Ayrshire.

Statement of faith

One God (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 42:8; James 2:19) in three persons (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14) — Father, Son and Holy Spirit.Jesus Christ’s deity, virgin birth, sinless humanity, substitutionary death, atoning blood, bodily resurrection and ascension to heaven.The entire Bible as God’s infallible revelation to man.Salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.Each person having been created in the image of God, has intrinsic worth and dignity. The Bible, as the inspired and infallible Word of God, serves as the final authority and source of what we believe concerning truth, morality and proper conduct. The Holy Spirit’s indwelling and empowering of believers, which is given as a seal and a pledge of our inheritance in Christ Jesus.God’s creation of man and woman, and marriage as a holy union between a man and a woman. We believe the Bible is Gods truth and itpoints us to the standard He wants us tolive our lives by.The Bible says in Genesis 1:27, God created us in His own image as male and female.Genesis 2:24, tells us God created marriage between a male and female as a Holy covenant for the fulfilment of a sexual relationship and family life. We hold to Gods truth and Hisstandard for each one of us but acknowledge for different reasons, perhaps beyond ourcontrol, we may find ourselves not livingthe life God has intended for relationships,identity, family. As a church, we believe there is grace here and no matter your personal situation you will be welcome in Hope Rising.Whilst we believe the Bible is the truth and will not compromise on this, we commit to showing love, grace and compassion to each individual who chooses to join our church family. Families are often complex and can be messy - we love as Jesus loves and our acceptance of each other as individuals made in theimage of Christ is more important thancomplete agreement. We believe both men and women, youngand older should all be serving and leadingtogether in the local church.In our church family you will see both men and women leading worship, teaching the Word of God, praying and serving each other in different ways. Whilst the founding Trustees of Hope are all women, we firmly believe that God is going to build this team with women and men who share the vision and passion of Hope.
